Worldwide Flight Services’ (WFS) commitment to aviation safety has been recognised by Airport Authority Hong Kong with two HKIA Safety Excellence Awards for its fueling and baggage handling services.
The ‘Extraordinary Contribution and Efforts on Airport Safety’ certificates, signed by Vivian Cheung, Executive Director, Airport Operations, Airport Authority Hong Kong, were presented to WFS Fueling and WFS Holding alongside individual awards to employees of both companies, including Best Safety Supervisor to Hing Wing Lam of WFS Holding.
Awards for good safety measures in 2020/2021 were presented to WFS employees Shing Cheung, Ray Ching Yin Chan, Wang Wai Lam, Sheung Kit To, Chung Yau Ng and Yau Chin Tsang. Chun Tat Wan was also recognised
in the Good Safety Suggestion category, while Rocky Kee Ming Lok was honoured for Role Model Safety Behaviour.

The HKIA Airport Safety Recognition Scheme sees awards presented annually by the airport authority to recognise organisations with outstanding achievements in the field of aviation safety, occupational safety and health performance, safety promotion and culture. They honour companies which meet HKIA’s strict safety targets for all areas of airport operations, including ramp safety, and aim to inspire a robust safety culture and inspection/audit programme.
Based on pre-Covid operations, WFS Fueling provides into-plane fueling services for more than 40 airlines operating some 65,000 flights per year at HKIA, while WFS Holding’s baggage handling teams at handle approximately 2.7 million passenger bags per month, including check-in, transfer, Air-to-Sea, Sea-to-Air and OOG (Out of the Gauge) baggage.
